Life After MITE2S Words cannot describe the MITES experience. You have to be a part of MITES to understand where I'm comming from. Before I applied to MITES I had no idea what I wanted to do in life or what I wanted in a college, but MITES taught me the right way to study as well as helping me find what Karl Reid calls an 'a-haa' moment. I love all you guys so much and thank you for all the experiences we had.

Life After MITE2S I hate to be trite, but it's not much more to say than MITES changed my life. I would not have even thought of applying to Harvard if it were not for the impact the MITES experience had on me. Since attending MITES, I have worked in management consulting and different nonprofits, and I attribute my success in all of these endeavors to the foundation I was able to build with MITES. This summer I will be in Chicago doing investment banking and in Washington D.C. with a nonprofit.

Life After MITE2S I'm still experiencing the effects Post MITES Syndrome but I get to see the majority of my MITES buddies at MIT so it's not as bad. Thanks in large to MITES, I decide to apply to MIT and look where I am now.

Name (click to email) Sophia Chrissie Elie
Undergraduate University University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Class of 2010. Studying Chemical Engineering
Life After MITE2S MITES was the hardest but the best summer I've ever had. Before MITES I didn't think I was good enough to be an engineer. However, MITES helped me see that my limits were much higher than I thought they were and now I'm not going to stop until I get my PhD. I met great people who I still keep in touch with today. I love my MITES fam!

Undergraduate University University of Texas at San Antonio. Class of 2010. Studying American Studies, Legal Studies
Life After MITE2S Since leaving Cambridge on the very sad day that MITE2S ended, I have been a student in every sense of the word. At MITE2S I learned how to explore and observe the world around me, and how to think critically about everyday issues. I am inspired everyday by those memories and I value the friendships I made in those six short weeks.

Life After MITE2S Since MITES, I've been truckin' through senior year in high school. I got passed the SATs, college apps, and some scholarship apps, and second quarter. It is now Jan. 2006 and I don't know where I really want to be next school year. It's great having had the MITES experience, the motivation, the inspiration, and the evaluations. I'm striving to live up to the same MITES codes of hardwork, learning for learning's sake, and being collaborative. At this moment, I'm striving to stop procrastinating and get back into the swing of things. Who knows what the future will bring me. I am hoping for the best. Come on, come on, throw me an Ace!! Otherwise, just keeping the faith and learning to love life more...

Life After MITE2S Attending MITES was definately one of the best decisions I have ever made. I met a lot of amazing people and gained the confidence in my academic background to apply to the Ivies and MIT. I've been accepted to MIT and PRINCETON, and every other college I applied to. Now I'm trying to get ready for college where I'll study engineering and run track. MITES gave me the ability to choose my school and have colleges competing for me, instead of the other way around.

Life After MITE2S Well, it's Spring semester at MIT, and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else. MITES opened up my eyes to just how much I love and need a good challenge. I still see a huge number of my MITES classmates every day, and we're still as close. Don't ask questions, just apply! There's nothing to lose, and so much to gain.

Life After MITE2S What's happened since I left MITES? I sleep more, sort of. I passed AP calculus BC & physics C (well, physics final is not in the bag, but sparing any ugly failure grades I'm in the clear), which would not have happened without MIT... And now? I'm sitting here wondering what's going to happen this fall and thinking about how weird it is that a year ago, as I was wrapping up finals, I was about to meet all of you.

Life After MITE2S I've been taking way too many classes, and too many of them start with the letters 'AP.' Even though I'm astoundingly busy, I'm not stressing, which may be thanks to MITES. And I'm definitely used to not sleeping. I've been focusing on getting into MIT more than anything else, and I hope to know my fate by December. I miss my MITES experience and my MITES family more than anything I've ever missed in my life. Good luck to all, and we'll be seeing each other again!

Life After MITE2S My senior year would be very different had I not been fortunate enough to attend such an amazing and rewarding summer program. MITES helped me return to my high school with so much more confidence, determination, and ambition. What at first I thought would be the longest 7 weeks of my life turned out to be the best summer of my life, which ultimately I felt like needed to be longer. All the hard work at MITES has paid off with my studies back at home in Cali. ”VIVA MITES!
