Life After MITE2S Hi Everyone!!! I am so excited - I just found this web site =+) It was nice to read everyone's profiles (although there should be more!). The last 10 years -- I went to Stanford, did my senior project with Antonio Sistos :-), and worked for Honeywell in Arizona for 2 years. In 2000 I went to law school and now I am working in Beaumont, TX. Some life, huh? I can't wait for the next MITES reunion -- I should get the latest info now that my address is updated. Hope everyone continues to do well!!

Life After MITE2S Wow, ten years is a long time to sum up! I've been to school, taken a break to work, and been to school again; done singing tour to Bermuda and various parts of southeast Asia; done a bit of ballroom dancing; traveled some more to Ireland and France; and become an aunt. Right now, I'm going for my degree in architecture, and enjoying it immensely.

Life After MITE2S After graduation from MIT, I went to DC to work for an new group at AMS, an IT and Business Consulting Firm focusing on technology strategy. DId that for a while then I moved to London to start a consulting group for a small start-up where I lived for about a year and then returned to the US. So I'm back in DC consulting and loving life. I get back to the Insitute frequently in my capcity as a trustee.

Life After MITE2S After MITES, I went to MIT to study EECS. After that, I went to Oxford to study signal processing and neural networks. My thesis focused on automated fetal heart rate analysis. After finishing up my PhD at Oxford, I moved back to the USA. I'm now working at a research scientist at Guidant Corporation in St. Paul, MN, designing new features for implantable cardiac devices.

Life After MITE2S After high school, I went to West Point and somehow managed to graduate. I got an NSF fellowship and got a masters in computer science. After that it was Army time. I've been to airborne school and ranger school and a bunch of other military schools. I've been an M1A2 tank platoon leader, community relations officer, OCS TAC officer, and now I'm assistant ops officer and battle captain for 2nd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Enough about me... it's incredible to see how well everyone is doing. You guys are truly some of the brightest minds in this nation and I'm proud to have spent a summer with all of you.

Life After MITE2S Since that fateful summer, I have graduated from college. I worked briefly as an analytical chemist, but I fell in love with teaching in the inner city. I have been teaching high school chemistry, physics, and mathematics courses for the past seven years in the Atlanta Public Schools District. Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Science Education at the University of Georgia. I am intersted in investigating and elucidating the determing factors that affect the achievement of black and minority students in science. I am truly blessed in that I am married and loving life. This is because I love my family and my occupation.

After needing carpal tunnel surgery I left research and started to teach high school science in NJ. I LOVE it. I got married in 2006 and moved to Georgia where I continue to teach. My husband and I are currently in the process of buying our first home.
